Mobile phone maker OnePlus announced Friday that it has signed partnerships with Indian esports organizations Gods Reign, K9, and Cincinnati Kids.
Financial terms of these deals were not disclosed
The partnership is part of the company’s long-term goal of helping to build a “gaming-first ecosystem” in the region, and while not emphatically stated, promoting its various mobile devices as the best platform to compete on in mobile esports.
More broadly, OnePlus will work with each organization to integrate its products and garner feedback from the gaming/esports community in India, promote each other’s brands across social media and video content, engage in activations, and promote its brand on team jerseys, among other things. As part of the deal, all three teams will take on new names with OnePlus branding: K9 will play under the name OnePlus K9, Cincinnati Kids will be called OnePlus Cincinnati Kids, and Gods Reign will play under OnePlus Gods Reign.
In case you are not familiar with these teams, all of them field some of the best Battlegrounds Mobile India / PUBG Mobile players in the world, though some of them operate in other competitive spaces such as Free Fire, Counter-Strike 2, and some football titles.
