Berlin-based esports and gaming company Freaks 4U Gaming announced Thursday that it has partnered with the organizers of gamescom 2025 to create the Pro Arena.
Financial terms of this new collaborative effort were not disclosed.
At the annual gaming festival held in Cologne, Germany, Freaks 4U Gaming will operate a centralized hub for esports, community events, and interactive entertainment, according to the company.
The Pro Arena will provide 2,500 m² (or roughly 26,909 sq. feet) of space to host activations, esports competitions with leading organizations, showcase spaces for publishers and developers, a business area for networking and hosting press briefings, VIP areas for conducting business, and more.
Freaks 4U Gaming also announced that Germany-based SK Gaming is the first named esports organization to commit to whatever competitions take shape during gamescom 2025. Specifically, the team will host a dedicated 700 m² (roughly 7,534 sq.feet) entertainment area within the space, with the finals of the League of Legends competition, the Equal eSports Cup, taking place there. The trophy for the Magenta eTrophy (a Fortnite competition) will also be awarded.
Tim Endres, director of gamescom, said that the organizer is “excited about the partnership,” noting that “With Freaks 4U Gaming, we’ve found a strong and experienced partner to add a key new element to gamescom. Together, we aim to strengthen esports and provide our visitors with even more value. As the world’s biggest gaming event, we’re always working on fresh ideas that echo both nationally and internationally.”
Arguably the biggest gaming-related conference and fan event for Europe, gamescom is set to take place Aug. 20 – 24 in Cologne, Germany.
Freaks 4U Gaming is a wholly owned subsidiary of NODWIN Gaming.
