North American esports organization Cloud9 and Mueller Esports Medicine announced that they have partnered to promote the company’s esports-focused wellness products, with Super Smash Bros. Melee professional player Joseph “mang0” Marquez an integral part of the campaign.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Under the terms of the deal, mang0 and Cloud9 will create content around Mueller’s recovery tools such as the REVIVE pneumatic compression system and performance compression sleeves. Cloud9 added in its announcement that, by using these devices and products, mang0 will be able to “extend his successful career for many years to come and continue competing and delivering memorable competitive matches.”
In case you are not familiar with Mueller, it has been around for more than 65 years, providing products that help professional sports athletes stay healthy longer, improve recovery times, and prolong their careers, among other things. Compression technology has a number of uses outside of professional sports for everyday use such as treating the side effects of cancer treatments and lymphedema (by reducing swelling, just as one example).
“Throughout the partnership, mang0 and Mueller aim to redefine esports wellness–creating a path where gamers are equipped with the tools and knowledge to prioritize their health and take control of their performance through sustainable habits,” said Jonathan Tran, president of Cloud9.
“Partnering with Cloud9 and mang0 is a natural next step for Mueller. We’ve spent decades building the highest quality and most innovative products for high-performance athletes. Esports competitors are no different. They demand endurance, sharpness, and recovery. We’re here to help them push further and feel better doing it,” added Brett Mueller, CEO of Mueller Esports Medicine.
Mueller Esports Medicine joins other Cloud9 partners and sponsors including PAGODA Snacks, KIA, Zenni Optical, and Secretlab. The LA-based organization currently competes in Call of Duty, Valorant, EA Sports FC, Halo Infinite, League of Legends, and Rainbow Six Siege.
