Team Liquid announced Tuesday that it has partnered with PVP-focused, 2v2 collectible card action game, Wildcard.
Financial terms of the deal between Team Liquid and the game’s developer, Wildcard Alliance, were not disclosed.
Under the terms of this new collaboration, Team Liquid will help the Wildcard developers fine-tune its competitive play game mechanics. In addition, Team Liquid members Lourlo and bobqin will showcase Wildcard’s action on their respective streams and attend in-person Wildcard events.
The developers describe Wildcard as a player-versus-player (PVP), collectible card-based, multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). The goal of the game is to assemble decks of collectible cards that summon companion creatures to do battles in a variety of arenas throughout the universe.
Overall, Team Liquid aims to boost Wildcard’s esports plans, with feedback from the team and its content creators. While not emphatically stated in its announcement, one would assume that the organization will also promote the game through marketing efforts on social media as well.
“We’ve been excited about Wildcard from the start. It was a fun game to play in its first iteration, and it’s only gotten better,” said Bo Kryne, VP of product at Team Liquid. “The team is amazing to work with, and you see their passion come back in the game that they’ve made. We’re very pleased to be partnered with them as they release Wildcard to the public.”

Separately, Team Liquid recently announced the launch of a limited edition jersey to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The new jersey will feature a 25th-anniversary emblem, with pre-orders available now on the Team Liquid Store. The new jersey is set to ship in mid-May and is priced at $85 USD (excluding shipping, handling, and other taxes).
