Switzerland-based gaming audio solutions company SONIX announced Tuesday that it has secured an additional CHF 1.8 million—or $2.2 million USD—in a new funding round from a group of undisclosed “business angels, entrepreneurs, and family offices.” To date, the company has raised roughly CHF 6 million—or $7.3 million (based on the currency exchange rate of roughly CHF 1 = $1.22 USD for April 15, 2025).
The company also announced a crowdfunding investment campaign to allow customers an opportunity to invest in the company as well, though some details are to be announced. More information on the crowdfunding campaign can be found here, as well as an option to get in on a presale.
Speaking specifically to the crowdfunding round, the company said in its announcement that it will use the funds to further scale its “gamified engagement features” and expand its reach to gaming-related content creators, esports organizations, and related brands.
“We are on a mission to revolutionize the communication platform for the gaming ecosystem, providing an all-in-one, high-performance communication platform tailored for competitive and community-driven gaming,ˮ said Nicolas Abelé, CEO of SONIX. “This crowdfunding campaign allows gamers, creators, and brands to be part of the next big shift in gaming communication.ˮ
In case you are not familiar with the company, SONIX is a voice communications company aimed at casual and competitive gamers, providing what it calls AI audio solutions with “unmatched latency and clarity” available on multiple platforms Windows PCs, Apple IOS, and Android mobile devices). Ultimately, it aims to be a direct competitor to Discord, but with a strong focus, the company says, on “high-performance communication, meaningful engagement, and a gamified user experience.”
Last year, the company inked a partnership deal with U.S.-based esports organization Wildcard Gaming, co-owned by popular content creator Kaitlyn Siragusa, better known to her fans as Amouranth.
