Warner Music Group (WMG) has hired former Activision Blizzard executive Armin Zerza to take on the role of EVP and chief financial officer. In his new role—which he officially takes on May 5—Zerza will help the music brand evolve its long-term growth strategy, reporting directly to CEO Robert Kyncl.
Zerza will replace Bryan Castellani, who will leave the role but take on an advisory position on May 5.
“I am thrilled to join WMG, a dynamic and innovative leader in the music industry,” said Zerza in a release. “I believe the business has tremendous potential and look forward to working closely with Robert and the talented team at WMG to help deliver its ambitious vision for innovation, growth, and long-term value creation.”
Zerza is a game industry veteran, having spent more than 12 years in C-suite roles at both Blizzard Entertainment and then Activision Blizzard. During his nearly six years at Blizzard Entertainment, Zerza served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. In 2019, he joined parent company Activision Blizzard, where he served as chief commercial officer and chief financial officer for more than six years.
Prior to joining the Activision Blizzard family, Zerza spent 11 years at Procter & Gamble, where he served as director of mergers & acquisitions, CFO – Europe baby care, and CFO for Latin America.
