The Milk Cup returns in 2025

The Milk Cup returns in 2025.

After a successful run in 2024, the Milk Cup will return in 2025, offering women in the United States a chance to earn part of an overall prize pool of $300,000 USD by competing in Fortnite Duos and Build competitions through online and offline events. Once again this year, women-focused tournament operator Raidiant will run the competition with the support of leading partner Gonna Need Milk, popular Fortnite content creator ThePeachCobbler, and agency Moonrock.

The Esports Advocate reached out to WOTE (Women of the eRena) owner eFuse to confirm its participation this year; other sources tell us that the company will have some participation in this year’s event, but specific details are to be announced at a later date. ThePeachCobbler, who promoted the new competition on social media Friday, is an important piece of the puzzle as she worked closely with Gonna Need Milk to conceptualize the inaugural events in 2024.

According to the official website for the competition, Milk Cup 2025 is open to women in the United States, and open qualifiers Series 1 will begin on April 24, with the Main Event taking place May 1. Series 2 qualifiers open on July 3, with the Main event kicking off July 10. Series 3 open qualifiers start on August 14, with the Main Event taking place on August 21. A Fall LAN Championship will wrap up this year’s competitions, crowning an ultimate champion—details on where in-person events will take place are to be announced.

The format for this year will be the top 50 teams from each Open Qualifier moving on to the Main Event in each series (based on points earned). During the Season 1 and  Season 2 Main Events, the top 15 teams advance, and during the Season 3 Main Event, the top 20 teams advance.

The total prize pool is $300,000, with each Main Event worth a total of $30,000, or $90,000 for all three combined. The total prize pool for the LAN Championship is worth $210,000, with the top three spots earning $78,000, $38,000, $19,000, respectively, with the remainder divvied up among teams that place 4th to 26th..

To register for the event, visit the Gonna Need Milk Discord channel. More general details about the 2025 Milk Cup can be found here.

Also revealed is the new The Milk Cup Academy, a community dedicated to training and mentoring aspiring Fortnite competitors. The program will provide expert coaching from professionals such as  ThePeachCobbler, access to competitive training and scrims to sharpen their skills, wellness and performance support, and special prizes for participants.  Twitch content creator ThePeachCobbler explained the importance of the new program: “The Milk Cup Academy is a game-changer. So many talented women just need the right guidance and opportunity. This program gives them both.”

The Milk Cup Academy will be hosted on the official Twitch channel for The Milk Cup.

Gonna Need Milk is operated by Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP), a Washington D.C.-based organization funded by America’s milk companies dedicated to educating consumers about the benefits of real milk for better health including its nutritional value for gamers (milk contains 13 essential nutrients including protein, calcium, zinc, selenium, vitamin B12, and Vitamin D). The organization is firmly behind this esports initiative, which gives a spotlight to women competing in esports and exposure to a wider audience.
