Epic Games announced Monday the former professional Fortnite professional player turned content creator Cody “Clix” Conrod, is joining Fortnite as part of its Icon Series. Clix has built a global audience of more than 22M followers on streaming platforms and social media, and is a co-owner of North American esports and gaming organization XSET.
Clix gained global fandom and recognition in 2019 when he qualified for the Fortnite World Cup at just 14 years old. He would go on to become one of the most iconic (pun intended) Fortnite Twitch streamers in the world. Clix will be making history and fulfilling a personal goal of joining the Icon Series on March 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
“Joining the Icon Series is literally a dream come true,” Clix said in a release. “If 14 year old me could see this now, he wouldn’t believe it. To see how far my community and I have come in our Fortnite journey, it’s unreal for my legacy to be a piece of the game forever. I’m excited for everyone to experience my new Outfits, dive into Clix Tycoon, and compete in the Clix Cup!”
Clix’s Icon Series launch features new content in the form of a Clix bundle and the Clix Icon Cup, a Trios Battle Royale event on March 21, with the top point-earning trios in each region awarded with the entire Clix Bundle before it hits the Shop. Trios who place within the second-highest tier in each region will unlock the Sparx Outfit. In addition, all teams who earn at least eight points will unlock the Dr3amin Spray.
Also launching to celebrate this milestone is Clix Tycoon, a game within Fortnite where players roleplay as a content creator, earning followers, develop a streaming career and spend the fruits of their labor to upgrade their house, acquire a vacation home, buy new cars, enhance their streaming setup, and create their own gaming organization. Fans can use the island code 9730-2169-8778 in Fortnite to play.
