Shroud teams with BOXXED for annual charity Fragathon

Popular content creator Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek has partnered with BOXED.GG to unbox and give away vintage Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering collectible trading cards to viewers as part of his Fragathon on Jan 31. The Fragathon, an annual event for Shroud that began at the beginning of this month, aims to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For 2025 Shroud has  raised around over $260K USD–as of this writing—from fan Twitch subscriptions, Twitch virtual currency (bits), and direct donations.

The giveaway is part of an eight-hour long stream where he will open packs provided by BOXED that increase in rarity and value throughout the day, according to the announcement.

On a semi-related note, BOXED announced a partnership this week with Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), a card verification service. Financial terms of that partnership were not disclosed. BOXED claims that it realized explosive growth in 2024—in terms of users on the platform and boxes opened—of more than 300% year-over-year (it launched in 2023). The site boasts more than 200K  registered users, 30M+ boxes opened, more than 100K physical cards shipped to collectors, and more than 3.5M+ user-created Forge Boxes opened since its launch in October, and more than 65K Discord members.
