Publicly traded esports and gaming company GameSquare Holdings (NASDAQ: GAME) announced that it has strengthened its marketing management team this week with an aim towards driving future growth.

GameSquare announced that Matt Mayer has been appointed to the role of EVP of brand marketing, Jonathan Murnane has been appointed EVP of gaming & entertainment, Malia Jennings has been named director of brand marketing, and Briana Kornegay has been appointed to the role of director of brand experience.

The company said in its announcement that these appointments reflect its “commitment to expanding its leadership structure, driving its focus on developing gaming, strategic marketing, and entertainment growth opportunities, and supporting the company’s significant sales expansion, which has seen revenue grow from $11 million in 2021 to over $100 million currently.”

“Matt, Malia, Briana, and Jonathan are proven leaders that have built strong books of business at fast-paced, high-growth, and dynamic organizations,” said GameSquare CEO Justin Kenna. “Their longstanding relationships with Fortune 500 lifestyle, gaming, multicultural marketing, and entertainment companies will add immediate value to GameSquare. Our ability to attract best-in-class talent is a direct result of the platform we have built and the solutions we have created to help global brands and game publishers connect with large, hard-to-reach audiences.  I look forward to Matt, Jonathan, Malia and Briana’s contributions.”

Matt Mayer joins GameSquare from experiential marketing agency NCompass International, where he most recently served as EVP of strategic marketing. While there, he developed long standing relationships with major brands such as Amazon, Toyota, and General Mills, among others.

Malia Jennings  brings more than 15 years of experience at what GameSquare calls “multiculturally focused marketing.” She also comes to the company from NCompass International, where she served as director of multicultural marketing helping to develop consumer loyalty.

Briana Kornegay also comes from NCompass International, where she spent more than 14 years working in multicultural marketing. Most recently she served as director of multicultural engagement at NCompass International, handling experiential marketing, live event and digital production, and more, working with  brands such as Toyota, General Mills, Best Buy, and event partners including HBCUs, national music festivals, global sporting events, and more.

Jonathan Murnane comes to GameSquare from IHEARTCOMIX where he served as COO and Activision, where he helped develop and launch the Global Experiential Marketing group at the company. While at Activision, he led programs for E3, Comic Con, and Call of Duty: XP across such company owned brands as Call of Duty, Skylanders, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and Guitar Hero. Most recently he headed up gaming and entertainment at NCompass International developing programs for publishers such as Activision, Riot, Ubisoft, and Netflix, among others.
