Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP Group) announced Friday that seasoned Counter-Strike professional player Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg will serve as a brand ambassador for the organization. This news coincides with his formal announcement that he is retiring from professional competition after nearly two decades.
Financial terms of this collaboration between Lindberg and NIP Group were not disclosed.
“Becoming a Brand Ambassador at Ninjas in Pyjamas truly feels like a homecoming moment. I’m excited to be back where it all started, and I can’t wait to talk to even more Ninjas in Pyjamas fans, both old and new, throughout this exciting journey,” said Patrik ‘f0rest’ Lindberg.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome back one of the most well-known faces associated with our iconic esports organization,” added Hicham Chahine, Co-CEO of Ninjas in Pyjamas. “Patrik did great things with us as an esports player and we look forward to making him at home again as a Brand Ambassador. Patrik’s strong following and ties to Ninjas in Pyjamas made working with him again a no-brainer, and we can’t wait to see how our new partnership unfolds.”
The partnership is a bit of a homecoming, as Lindberg played for NIP from 2012-2020. Over the years the top-ranked and well-respected CS player has played for such organizations as Begrip, Fnatic, SK Gaming, and Dignitas, among others.
Serving as the organization’s brand ambassador, Lindberg “will play a key role in supporting the organization’s competitive and creative efforts,” according to a release. His first order of business in the new role will be co-streaming the Counter-Strike team’s matches, including their upcoming qualifying matches for the Shanghai Major at the RMRs.
He will also be streaming games daily on Twitch through matchmaking platform FACEIT, where fans will have a chance to play against him and take part in community events outside of the game.
