M80 Co-founder and Director of Marketing Nate Schanker announced that he is leaving esports organization. The brief announcement was made on social media on Friday:

“I am stepping away from M80, an organization that has been incredibly special to me,” wrote Nanzer in a post on social media. “It’s been an honor to help co-found and grow M80 into one of the fastest-growing esports organizations in North America. I’m grateful for the amazing team, players, and the experiences we’ve shared along.

“I’ve made the decision to pursue a new opportunity that I am very excited to announce soon. Extremely hyped and looking forward to what the future holds.”

Schanker did not give a specific reason for the exit, but it is clear from his post that a new opportunity has already been lined up.

Schanker officially joined M80 as a co-founder in December 2022 alongside Marco Mereu, following his exit from LA-based esports organization XSET, where spent more than two years promoting the brand, its partnerships, events, and participation in international esports competitions as head of social.

The Esports Advocate chronicled Schanker’s professional career—from young entrepreneur and marketer to esports executive—in 2023 as part of our feature series, The Path.
