Publicly traded international esports organization NIP Group (NASDAQ: NIPG) announced the appointment of Randy Hearst Harris as an independent director to its board of directors, effective as of Sept. 24.

NIP Group describes Harris as the founder of the sports management company 3V, a Loyola Marymount University graduate, and a “seasoned investor with a diverse portfolio spanning real estate, technology, and AI ventures,” according to a release. The company also noted that he is a member of the “Hearst family,” which owns a media empire that includes major U.S. publications such as Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Town & Country, and Harper’s Bazaar, among others.
NIP Group, the result of a merger between European esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas and China-based esports organization Victory Five in 2020, currently competes in League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Apex Legends, Fortnite, and EA Esports FC 24, among other game titles.
