Computer hardware and gaming peripherals manufacturer CORSAIR (Nasdaq: CRSR) announced this week that it has signed a definitive agreement with Endor AG to acquire the Fanatec Sim Racing product line for an undisclosed amount.
Should the deal go through, CORSAIR would also take on existing employees at Endor who manage and operate the Fanatec product line , who would remain at the company’s headquarters in Landshut. CORSAIR said in its announcement that the “transaction is expected to close imminently,” but did not disclose any financial details of this deal.
Fanatec is well known for its sim racing hardware offerings including its force-feedback steering wheels, pedals, shifters, and cockpits for various platforms including PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox platforms, and PC-based racing simulators.
“We have long admired the Fanatec brand and are excited to bring these incredible products to an even wider audience,” said CORSAIR CEO Andy Paul, in a release. “We are fully committed to further develop and expand Fanatec’s product lines, improving customer service, and embracing the needs of the Sim Racing community. Racing enthusiasts can look forward to an even more intense and realistic Sim Racing experience.”
Following the completion of the acquisition, CORSAIR said that it plans to make “significant investments in the Fanatec brand, its products, and increasing worldwide availability through our channels.”
CORSAIR manufactures hardware for gamers, content creators, and PC enthusiasts, and is an endemic sponsor of esports teams, content creators, tournament operators, and the collegiate esports scene.
