UK-based esports organization Guild Esports announced Wednesday that it has partnered with Sky Broadband to launch a new custom-built map in Fortnite called “Sky City.” The new map was created through the company’s wholly-owned development studio, Guild Studio (with support from gaming studio UMI Games), and falls under the auspices of its ongoing partnership with the British broadband service provider.
The new map launches alongside a new influencer-led campaign and “Speed Showdown,” which is described as “a series of live-stream events which allow players to battle alongside their favorite creators, engage in challenges, and win real-world prizes from Sky Broadband.”
These activities will be led by Guild Fortnite pro Ruby “RubyPlays” Allenby. Other creators taking part include Sunpi, Tubbo, Archie, and LittleBunny. Guild claims that these content creators collectively have more than 17M subscribers “across Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, X/Twitter, and YouTube.
Users interested in testing out the new map may search for “Sky City” in Fortnite and keep an eye on Guild Esports’ social media accounts.
This news follows an announcement by the company last week that it was courting a buyer in the United States—DCB Sports LLC—as it faces a liquidity crisis.
