San Antonio-based fast food company Whataburger unveiled a new custom Fortnite map called “Bedwars” and a competition this week. The “Breakfast in Bedwars” map and tournament are the product of a partnership with Ohio-based eFuse and its eRena platform, as well as UGC developer, Click Media Group, and marketing firm McGarrah Jessee.
Financial terms of these partnerships were not disclosed.
In Bedwars, four teams of three players “defend their beds while simultaneously launching daring attacks on their opponents’ bases.”
From July 8 – 15, anyone ages 13+ can submit entries to participate by posting clips playing the new Whataburger “Breakfast in Bedwars” map on the social media platform X/Twitter using the hashtag #BreakfastInBedwars. The players with the top 16 submissions will be invited to be tournament captains and bring two teammates into battle in a single-elimination bracket qualifier on July 17, with the top four teams advancing to the main event on July 22 to compete alongside popular Fortnite creators for a share of the $25K USD prize pool. The first-place winning team will take home a grand prize of $10K.
