ESL FACEIT Group and Level Infinite Group announced Tuesday the launch of the PUBG Mobile Esports Card Program for payment systems and financial institutions.
Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
Described in the release as a “first of its kind program,” the PUBG Mobile Esports Card Program will bring together “esports, card benefits, and streamer engagement into a single, cohesive offering.”
The program, described as a turnkey solution for financial institutions looking to find new ways to target younger consumers, will encompass a number of initiatives including esports competitions, naming rights opportunities for grassroots competitions such as the PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO), PMCO bootcamps, unique card designs using the PUBG Mobile IP, in-game rewards programs (in-game items and virtual currency), access to creator partnerships, and more.
The PUBG MOBILE Esports Card Program is aimed at key markets in MENA, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Egypt, as well as markets in Europe such as Turkey, Germany, Romania, and Poland, according to a release.
PUBG Mobile is co-developed by Tencent Games-owned studio Lightspeed Studios and PUBG owner Krafton. Level Infinite Group is owned by Tencent Games.
ESL FACEIT Group is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Savvy Games Group—which in turn is owned by the Saudi government’s Public Investment Fund and its Chairman of the board is Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler HRH Crown Prince MBS. EFG is home to tournament organizer ESL, Esports Engine, competition platform FACEIT, and esports and gaming festival company DreamHack.
