ALGS Year 4 Playoffs 2 coming to Germany at the end of August

Electronic Arts and Respawn announced that the Apex Legends Global Series Year 4 Split 2 Playoffs (ALGS Year 4 Split 2 Playoffs) will be hosted in Mannheim, Germany, at the SAP Arena from Aug. 29 – Sept. 1. The live, on-site tournament will feature the top global Apex Legends teams duke it out for a share of a $1M USD prize pool and the Playoffs trophy. While the SAP Arena has hosted its fair share of large-scale music concerts and sporting events, this marks the first time it has hosted a major professional esports event.

“The Split 2 Playoffs marks Apex Legends esports’ highly anticipated return to Europe and our first-ever ALGS event in Germany,” said Sr. Director Esports – Electronic Arts John Nelson. “With past stops in the UK, the US, and now Germany, we’re continuing to deliver more ALGS action to more fans around the world.”

The top 40 Apex Legends teams from six regions will take part in the event including (but not limited to) Team Falcons, Fnatic, Fennel, Legends Gaming, and many others. Teams will be playing for Playoff Points and a share of the $1M prize pool. The breakdown for the top 10 teams is as follows:

  • 1st – $300K, 500 Playoff Points
  • 2nd – $160K, 420 Playoff Points
  • 3rd – $105K, 380 Playoff Points
  • 4th – $85K, 340 Playoff Points
  • 5th – $65K, 300 Playoff Points
  • 6th – $50K, 260 Playoff Points
  • 7th – $40K, 240 Playoff Points
  • 8th – $30K, 220 Playoff Points
