Level Infinite Senior Director of Global Esports James Yang announced over the weekend the location of the Grand Finals of the 2024 PUBG Mobile Global Championship

Tencent Holdings gaming brand Level Infinite announced that the Grand Finals of the 2024 PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) will take place in the ExCel Auditorium in London from Dec. 6 – 8, and will serve as the final competition of the 2024 season. The announcement made by Level Infinite Senior Director of Global Esports James Yang over the weekend in the lead-in to the inaugural 2024 PUBG MOBILE World Cup at the Saudi Arabian government-funded Esports World Cup this weekend in Riyadh, also included first details on a new competition revolving around the all-or-nothing PvPvE mode Metro Royale.

The PMGC is set to take place at the ExCel Auditorium in London at the end of the year, with tickets available beginning in August, according to the announcement.

The format of this year’s PMGC includes changes to the qualifying slots following the introduction of the new regional PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) series at the start of the year. This year offers 15 invited slots including two teams from Japan, four from PEL, two from South Korea, the winner of the PUBG MOBILE Rivals Cup S2, the PMWC Champions Region, and five special invites. The remaining slots will be filled by 10 Southeast Asian teams that qualify for the top five positions of the PMSL SEA Fall, the top four positions by PMGC points for the region, and the winner of the PUBG Mobile Challengers League (PMCL) Fall. Eight Central and South America teams will qualify from the top four positions of the PMSL CSA Fall, and the top four positions by PMGC points for the region. From the Americas, six teams will qualify from the top three teams from the PMSL Americas Fall, and the top three by PMGC points for the region. Finally, nine teams from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa–including the top five from the PMSL EMEA Fall and the top four positions by PMGC points for the region.

Level Infinite also revealed a new PUBG Mobile Esports circuit called Metro Royale Esports that focuses on utilizing the PUBG Mobile game mode, Metro Royale. Introduced to PUBG MOBILE in 2021, Metro Royale is an all-or-nothing PvPvE mode where players secure loot while fending off enemy players and AI-controlled opponents along the way. Further details about this new competitive circuit are to be revealed at a later date.

The 2024 PUBG MOBILE World Cup concluded on Sunday, with Brazilian esports organization Alpha 7 Esports taking home the trophy, being crowned PMWC Champions, and securing the lion’s share of the $3M USD total prize pool. Alpha 7 Esports also managed to land at the #8 spot in the overall Esports World Cup Club Championship Ranking with the win, though esports organization Team Falcons has a sizable lead in ranking points as of this writing.

The Esports World Cup is funded by a grant from the Saudi Arabian government, while competitions are being facilitated by ESL FACEIT Group, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Savvy Games Group—which in turn is owned by the Saudi government’s Public Investment Fund and its Chairman of the board is Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler HRH Crown Prince MBS.
