Online crypto betting platform Thunderpick and esports organization Heroic announced the launch of Path to the Pros, a Counter-Strike 2 tournament aimed at amateur players, with a total prize pool of $17.5K USD.

The Thunderpick Path to the Pros tournament will be hosted online through FACEIT and will be divided into two leagues: one for amateurs, and another for experienced players.

Officially launching on July 6, and running until October, the tournament will feature bi-weekly matches on Saturdays, with 16 qualifiers divided into FACEIT levels 1 – 7 and 8 – 10. Thunderpick partners including Jake Lucky and FlickFlops will also create a team, with certain stages (to be determined) of the tournament streamed live.

In addition to earning part of the prize pool, the winning team will earn an exhibition match against Heroic’s professional Counter-Strike 2 team.

Thunderpick and Heroic also plan a number of activations and giveaways during the course of the competition, many to be announced at a later date, including a $500 skin. The main event, taking place at the end of the year, will be a “professionally produced” online tournament featuring 16 teams, according to a release.
