FIFA Reveals FIFAe World Cup Featuring Rocket League

International Football Association FIFA announced that it has partnered with Epic Games to bring its vehicular soccer game Rocket League to its global esports competition, FIFAe.

Rocket League is serving to fill a void created by EA Sports after it dropped the FIFA license for video games in 2022 in favor of making its own football title, EA Sports FC 24.

The new global competition featuring Rocket League will include 16 national teams with rosters of three players and one substitute. According to a release, the selected nations were chosen “based on factors such as player base and previous performances of players from the respective countries.”

FIFA also said in its announcement that participating member associations have the opportunity to host their own qualification tournaments to scout players to represent their nations.

Players interested in taking part in the first-ever FIFAe World Cup featuring Rocket League, taking place sometime later this year, can sign up via FIFA.GG.
