DreamHack renews partnership with Pantamera

ESL FACEIT Group-owned gaming festival company DreamHack and Sweden-based Returpack / Pantamera have renewed their ongoing partnership for another year.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

DreamHack has been working with Pantamera since 2018, promoting “sustainability, recycling, and community engagement among gaming and esports enthusiasts,” particularly at its festivals in the country. At DreamHack Summer (which is taking place this week) and DreamHack Stockholm (taking place at the end of the year), Pantamera will be actively pushing its mission to drive a more sustainable society, including its deposit return system for cans and bottles—which the company claims— has made “significant environmental strides, processing over 2.7B beverage packages annually.”

While Pantamera has been an official DreamHack partner since 2018, it actually entered the universe of gaming and esports in 2011 when the company identified young men as a demographic that tended to recycle less. Since then, the company has put a lot of effort into promoting sustainability in gaming, from remaking classic music videos with esports stars to hosting international Counter-Strike tournaments funded by recycled cans and bottles.

“As we renew our partnership with Pantamera, we’re reminded of just how vital community involvement is when it comes to driving change on a broader level,” said Andreas Jernberg, MD & VP of partnerships at DreamHack. “We’re not just part of the gaming industry, together, we’re shaping a greener, more sustainable world for everyone.”

During this year’s DreamHack Summer and Stockholm events, Pantamera has an on-site booth to engage attendees with activities, such as gaming ambassador SampeV2 meeting fans and engaging in Counter-Strike 2 competitions on the main stage.

Earlier this week DreamHack announced that it had renewed its partnership with another longtime sponsor—broadband service provider Tele2.
