Bayes Esports puts down a marker on the Esports World Cup

Esports data company Bayes Esports announced Wednesday that it has signed a partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation to “exclusively supply the official match data” for the Esports World Cup, taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July – August.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company will help the Esports World Cup safeguard data integrity by leveraging its suite of technology and services, including its match data integrity policies and its market monitoring service, according to a release.

Further details about the partnership were not disclosed, and it’s unclear if Esports World Cup match data will be delivered to Bayes’ other partners in the esports betting/sportsbook industry including RooBet, GG.Bet, Pinnacle, Bet365, Data.bet, and others, or across its suite of services/products.

The Esports Advocate reached out to Bayes prior to the publication of this story and will provide an update when/if more information becomes available.

It is also unclear what actual match data Bayes has the rights to handle. We do know that its partnerships with ESL FACEIT Group, BLAST Premier, and other tournament operators, give the access to data content from the Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 esports ecosystems.

Competitions for multiple games will take place from July 3 – Aug. 25 at the Esports World Cup, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, EA Sports FC 24, Fortnite, Free Fire, Honor of Kings, League of Legends, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Overwatch 2, PUBG Battlegrounds, PUBG Mobile, ESL R1, Rocket League, StarCraft II, Street Fighter 6, Teamfight Tactics, TEKKEN 8, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Siege.

The Esports World Cup is funded by a grant from the Saudi Arabian government, while competitions are being facilitated by ESL FACEIT Group, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Savvy Games Group. Savvy is owned by the Saudi government. EFG is home to tournament organizer ESL, competition platform FACEIT, and esports and gaming festival company DreamHack.

It should be noted that Bayes has an existing partnership with ESL FACEIT Group.

Editor’s note: We added additional context on what match data Bayes may have the right to handle after the publication of this article.
